Martina was born in Slovakia in 1980, she raised in Switzerland and began playing tennis from a young age making her professional first appearance just after turning 14.
Hingis was Fifteen years and nine months old when she won the 1996 Wimbledon doubles title with Helena Sukova. The year after, she was crowned the youngest singles Grand Slam tournament winner of the Twentieth century after her win in the Australian Open
She retired in 2003 due to her injuries, but she returned to her career again in the start of 2006 and she won the Australian open and the Italian open.
