Maria Sharapova is one of the top tennis players in the world, Maria is a Russian player.
In 1993, when she was six years old, Sharapova joined a tennis clinic in Moscow run by Martina Navratilova, at that time Navratilova suggested professional training at the IMG Academy, which had earlier trained players such as Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, and Anna Kournikova. With money constricted, Yuri Sharapov loaned out the sum that would enable him and his daughter, neither of whom could speak English, to travel to the United States of America
